Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Veterinary Assistant and a Licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT)?
A Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) has completed an accredited college veterinary technology degree and passed state and national credentialing exams, permitting them to perform anesthesia monitoring, dental scaling, and medical laboratory procedures. Veterinary assistants provide vital support in animal handling, patient comfort, and facility care.
How do your team members handle anxious or aggressive dogs and cats?
Our team is trained in low-stress handling methods. We use positive reinforcement, distractions like squeeze cheese and peanut butter, pheromone diffusers, and quiet rooms. If needed, we can discuss pre-visit calming medications to make appointments peaceful.
